Sadly, even though I work at a Mazda dealer I'd be scared to. OE parts support for these things has fallen WAY off, and there's very few people around that still know how to work on them.

That said, It's a 13B swap and some trim bits and parts from being GLORIOUS.

it is sad. I was restoring a 77 Dodge Aspen SE woody 360 wagon a few years back and I wanted Mopar tune up parts for it. Could you believe they didn't even have the paper catalogs at the dealership anymore and couldn't get the parts information for anything pre-94? for a freaking Dodge with a 360! I can only imagine what Mazda looks like for the 70's rotaries. Unreal. How hard is it to keep the catalogs on a shelf in the back room or something? I bet alot of parts are still in network, but the onus is on you to get the part number. Even on my 1990 Colony Park I would be like, ok I need this - uh we dont have the book - ok [googles for part number] - oh yes we have 3 of those at the warehouse, be in tomorrow. WTF

I used to have some microfiche catalogs from the 80's and 90's, and the old PC catalog goes back to the 1977 model year, but actually finding STOCK of the parts is questionable. And calling Mazda themselves is useless. There's no 'old guy' there that knows everything like you used to be able to find. Even they rely on the information the computers tell them, or they have to call Japan to find answers.

This place has only been a Mazda dealer since 2002, so none of the old stuff was ever around.

That dash! I once owned a 929 coupe of this era and seeing the dash brought back the memories. There's a place not far from home that has a collection of these and other cool cars, sadly they are just slowly returning to the earth.

yeah, I can't think of any Mazda dealer that has been around that long up here or at home. Really too bad. Luckily there is the interwebs. And for half the weird stuff I have driven over the past decade that has been my savior. And Napa oddly enough for Peugeot parts...
